2. Keep a strategic to-do list

Lots of people already write down to-do lists every day, including nurses. However, with a little forethought, to-do lists can change from a simple tool to keep from forgetting tasks to a way to maximize productivity.

If you want to-do lists to work for you, plan ahead and write the list in order of priority rather than the order that you remember tasks to jot down. Clearly during a nurse’s rounds, the health of the patients in your care is top priority, but if you can devise a plan that allows you to take care of tasks in an order that makes sense logistically (as in, tasks that can be done in order with the least amount of time traveling from place to place), it can help.
