10 Most Annoying Patients
Hamsa Ramesha & Jeff Hindenach | NursingLink

The Ingrate
Nursing is often a thankless profession, and patients like the Ingrate make sure you know it. Nothing you do elicits so much as a smile from this patient, much less a thank you. Whether she’s just plain rude or refuses to give you the respect you deserve, the Ingrate is not just an annoying patient, but probably a mean person as well,
How to deal: Don’t let the Ingrate’s negativity get to you. It’s not your job to teach people manners, just to give your patients they care they need. As long as you aren’t being inappropriately harassed, there’s not much you can do, other than to grin and bear it, and know that karma will one day set things right. Most likely, the Ingrate’s attitude isn’t directed at you, but at the situation in general.
