Nurses are the glue that holds the hospital together. Patients see nurses as a friendly face and doctors depend on nurses to keep them on their toes. A great nurse balances the needs of patient and doctor as seamlessly as possible.

    Nurses definitely has to develop good problem solving skills in dealing with professional and personal activities in dealing with day to day situations., every moment we will be facing certain challenges in life, hence Nurses should think rationally, analytically, apply cognitive, conative, affective & comprehensive skills and utilize the various resources, participate in inservice and continuing educational training programmes, group seminars, put sincere efforts in reviewing related literature to deal with the problematic situations independently, to have stress free working environment

    Nurses require notonly emotional stability as well as they should possess enough physical strength in order to carry out verious Nursing activities in clinical area., they should possess good physical health, maintain adequate nutrition which will promote or provide enough energy indealing the professional tasks efficiently, independently., one shoukd have lot of physical stamina to do the activities qualitatively

    Nurses should possess good interpersonal skills, they are the back bones for Therapeutic Milieu., they will be working with various people in different professions like Physical Therapists, LPN, Nursing Assistants, Aids, Doctors, Technicians, Social Workers, patients and their families., hence they should be careful, cordial, gentle, understanding in nature., they are the personnel who will be available and providing servicesand maintaining therapeutic environment.., salute to my profession

    Great posting. I've only been a nurse for a short time, but it is easy to get burnt out. Especially when the flexibility quality is taken advantage of by your employeer.

    Oftentimes, it is not the job per se that causes stress. Most people can manage the job stress. It is that compounded by the inflexibility of nurse managers/supervisors. So choose your job well and make sure it is a good fit for you.
