Mount Sinai Medical Center
New York, NY
Mount Sinai Medical Center was founded way back in 1852. Over the years, the medical center has been consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals, as decided by US News and World Report. Mount Sinai has been a leader in healthcare since its doors opened. It was the first to describe many disorders such as Libman-Sacks Disease and Tay-Saches Disease; it had the first department of geriatrics and adult development in a US medical school; and was the first hospital to point out that blood groups are hereditary.
Mount Sinai has over 1500 beds, 1800 nurses, and has spent $76.7 million in uncompensated care. Their school of medicine is also one of the best in the country, with 1700 full-time faculty and 1800 voluntary faculty. Mount Sinai has 22 affiliated facilities across New York state, creating a web of patient care for their many visitors.
Mount Sinai has over 700 open positions, from administrative assistants to ultrasound technicians. Many of these positions are located at Mount Sinai-affiliated facilities across New York, so no matter where you live, there may be a position waiting for you.

iI've been trying to get a job in the Atlanta area for over a year now, can't even get an interview. Since when can't experienced ICU Nurses get jobs (Maybe its because I don't want to work ICU nights and weekends anylonger)I actually live in North Central Florida right now, and there is a hiring freeze on RN's. So the healthcare sector is NOT looking for a few good Nurses. I think perhaps the military should open up some positions for nurses at George Washington and let some us work with our war vets. I would love to go work with young soldiers, so I can share stories while providing good care. My son is currently serving his second tour over there, as a mother and an ICU RN, I would love to share my training and it would help me as a mother hear from these hero's.

Well, check out what's happening in Minnesota!! The attorney general, Mike Hatch, initiated a moratorium 2years ago which dictated that hospital were unable to recover unpaid bills -so one hospital has actually lost $41 mil - has closed beds and laid off over 350 nurses - another hospital organization has had to lay off over 750 nurses - and that is just in the Mpls./ St. Paul area - the outlying areas are having a much tougher time - so - the possibility exists for hospital to close their doors for lack of income!! Not only nursing positions are laid off - administrative positions all the way to janitorial are also gone. Maybe the military should start looking to hire nurses who have been laid off rather than importing nursing personnel from other countries!!
