I have a BSN RN degree from Philippines (batch '89). I used to work as a NICU nurse in Saudi Arabia then I met my american husband and got married in 1997 and that ended my career- We decided to have a family so I stayed home and raised three beautiful boys. We got back here in the US from Philippines about five years ago- I see the demand for nursing is huge- I would love to go back and work again but what should I do? I have all my credentials and document- Where should I go to have my credentials evaluated? Do I need to go take a refresher course since it's been about ten years that I didn't work in a hospital? I work part time as HHA for over two years now with two ventilated patients. I love nursing and Iam good at it. Please enlighten me. :)

I am seriously looking into becoming a nurse, and I am gong to be starting class to become a vocational nurse. I had a couple of questions that I was hoping someone could help me with. Frst what is it that I do after I vecome a vocational nurse? And second, does having an immune system problem effect you becoming a nurse? See I have psorias and the whole getting sick from people thing because of an immune system problem does not bother me, I am more wondering if my skinwill be a problem.
