Well that's it I made my mind up to finally go back to school at the age of 27 to become a RN. I'm already part of the medical field I went to school for certified nursing assistant but i let my certification expire to go to school for medical assistant I graduated from there now I'm a medical assistant still looking for work in Atlanta Ga. To work in the medical field is my passion It's not even about the money for me It's just something that's deep down in me for me to care for people or children who need it and I'm not going to stop until I get in there so I start school in January since I missed fall registration. But before i start I really want to be working In the medical field now so I can work and go to school. Can any one give me some suggestions please? email me at shataun00@ymail.com thank you

How do I become a "specialized" nurse? I should have my RN in 18 months and I want to be a pediatric specialty nurse. My 12 year old has Type 1 one he inspired me to help other families. I want to work outside the hospital setting and help families that are sent home to "do it on their own". I was one of those moms and I hated the loneliness... Is this something anyone has heard of or am I spinning my wheels.

ok so i did some reading on this site, btw so very helpful. Accept that Im not understanding if I have to become an lpn or just get a two year associates. I foundsome schools to attend but unless you have a lpn/lpv license you do not qualify. Please help me understand this a little better. And then I can move forward soon.

I have pretty much had the battle of a lifetime the past 4 years becoming a nurse. I graduated HS and went to a community college that offered an ASN and LPN. I finished my pre-reqs in 3 semesters and applied and was accepted into theLPN prgrm. 3 days before the end of my first semester I got into a serious car accident that disabled me from taking finals. they wrote off my whole semester of work at made me retake it. I did and they failed me by .06% in pharmacology. I am in the process of transferring to a christian college and they require a 2.5 to be accepted and after getting a D in pharm my GPA is 2.44. I am still .06% too low for their nsg program. I am going tomorrow to take the NLN tests to test out of the first semester so I dont have to do it a 3rd time, but I still have to raise my GPA by .06% bym August 25th. Ha. Ive been a CNA for 5 years (since I was 16) and am now 21...Just lost my job as a pediatric nurse assistant and a local hospital and feel that this profession just doesn't want me. Its brutal. Nurses are bitches because they think that since they finally completed their degree anyone else is a peon. I sometimes think that since my journey has been so difficult I might end up being a little moody muself. I need to keep my head up and keep fighting the battle but at times I do questions myself and wonder why it is such a hassle when WE NEED NURSES SO BAD! I could walk into a hospital right now and perform every essential function as an RN confidently I assure you. Programs are bullshit, nursing is in your heart and life/work experience.

The only thing Im REALLY worried about is finding a job when Im done with school. Seems like people these days want people with experience. Im going to have my BSN in 2 or 3 years. Why do pre-reqs take forever??????
