Find Your Summer Healthcare Internship

Look Locally

Check out the local hospitals, clinics and providers and ask if they are looking for interns (add that you don’t mind working for free!). It can’t hurt to ask, and any experience is worthwhile. Many smaller offices and clinics may not advertise internship opportunities, or they may have never had an intern before. Before you approach a potential employer, get prepared. Have a goal in mind, and be able to offer suggestions of what you can do to help as well as what you can get out of the experience. If you aren’t sure what you want to do, make it clear that you are open to lots of options and will try anything.
