10 Subtle Ways to Sabotage Your Interview

Problem: You may be the king or queen of waxing poetic, but it doesn’t matter how many big words you use. If there is no substance to your answer, chances are your interviewer will see right through your BS. Rambling can make your interviewer uncomfortable or bored, as well as tip him off that you talk more than you listen — a big strike against you in nursing.
How to Fix It: Make sure you always have a point. After each question, take five seconds to focus on exactly which point you want to make. Even if you are unsure how to get there, ending with a definitive answer is better than confusing the interviewer or looking like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

" I recently went to a job interview,( I will not name where ); the interviewers,( 3 ),
actually LAUGHED HYSTERICALLY when I produced high school diploma / transcripts,
as well as nursing school diploma / transcripts.The interview was more like being
a contestant on Jeapardy:"Try to name / match all of your instructors you both shared,NOW."
I'm sure another candidate for interview has experienced such awkward experiences,
whereby you just want to CRAWL UNDER YOUR SEAT."

Gee, if you're afraid of germs to the point of avoiding minimum social contact like hand shaking, maybe the healthcare field is the wrong place to be working, IMHO.
If you've ever taken a beer to a job interview, you might be a redneck. However a wine cooler shows real sophistication. Also In My Humble Opinion.

I recently went for an interview and when I presented my hand for a handshake, the HR officer told me "I'm sorry, I can't shake your hand because of the Swine Flu".

In my past two interviews, both interviewers have declined to shake my hand for sanitiation purposes. The first was just coming back after being out with a cold and didn't want to unintentionally infect me, and the second told me that hospital policy had shifted away from unneccessary personal contact because of concerns about the swine flu.
