I am an 18 year old male planning on entering the nursing profession. My first goal is to become an R.N. the study to become a Physician Asst. and on to Pediatric endocrinology. I would ultimately like to work with juvenile diabetics like me. I was diagnosed at 11 and I believe I can make a difference because I know what these kids are feeling. I spend my days placing nurses and other medical staff in the right positions.
I love this work and the people I get to talk witn in the medical field are the most intellegent, spiritual wonderful people I have ever met. Even if you can't be physically involved lifting even sitting for long periods there is still a job there for you. Infection control is a great thing to get certified in and brush up on your teaching skills too if you have become disabled and you are a nurse. Call me any time we can talk more about how to get you place in the right position in your city and state. Ask For Nancy at x 122 my phone number is 336-644-6300

to sing, there are many areas of nursing, that do not require physical work. Case management is a good one. Diabetic instructor is also a growing field right now as MCARE and such just started that they will only pay for DM teaching if done by certified DM instructor. Lots of places will be looking for that, easy to obtain certification, check on line. That would have wound care included. Usually you teach group and individual classes as well as some case managment. Anyway, good luck. Nursing has so much variety, even though you had this terrible accident as a nurse, you will still be able to find and enjoy work.

I have worked as a nurse in a correctional facility in NY. In 2005 I was in a severe car accident and a year later I fell and broke my hip, femur, and wrist now I am disabled. I want to go back to work because I loved my job but find the race is too much for me because I now have trouble walking and difficulty with my balance. I just don't know where to go for help in finding a job in my field. I really enjoy working with the inmate population and especially in wound care. I am wondering if any other nurses are in the same predicament I am and know where to go for help. You can email me at yaegermeister1@yahoo.com if you have suggestions or hints.
