Those who succeed in nursing and gain the most fulfillment from it will start their careers with certain qualities. Do you have what it takes to be a great nurse?
I think this list needs reviewed with all nursing students. I have worked with a lot of new nurses that don't even begin to hold up to this. Great list.
These are all very good points and fit my attitude of a good nurse, sometimes stress & other problems can interfer inhow you react on the job, so remember if you keep these points in your mind when things are not right they seem to help get through them & always try to leave your personal problems at your front door when you go to work, get in the right frame of mind before you start your day or night.

I hope that people thinking of getting into nursing who don't have all the qualities listed here will realize they will gain those (most of those) with proper training and practice!
Some of these, such as empathy and emotional stability cannot be taught, but can still be developed if the person is cognizant of the need to improve in these areas.
this is great foundation information. i am proud to say i do obtain 99% of these, i have to leave room for improvement, we all do. It is important to behave this way as a good nurse and uphold the career.

I agree with cdnurse about using those points as a screening guide...unfortunately not all nurses out there meet even half of those qualities...
