The SF Bay Area in CA is also a really tough place to find work these days, declining census plus LOTS of new grads and re-entry...the only job I have been able to land (or even get an interview for that matter) is with my school district.
I am considering dialysis nursing, does anyone have any advice? Should I shell out the 3100 for a week-long training course? Are these training courses any good?

Totally agree with the Connecticut... although i think its all of southern connecticut, i'm in the southeast part and am having a very difficult time finding any kind of work. I think it has to do with such a low number of beds in each facility and the cap on building new facilites due to too many empty beds. Its only going to get worse when the baby boomers get really sick

I doubt it... I live in Des Moines: terrible situation for health care providers. Definitely would not recommend moving here for a job in healthcare field.

The picture for Fresno, CA is sort of misleading. There is a whole lot more to Fresno than that flag covered barn.
