I think that your issue here is like debating on internet security. Do we need to keep up with technological advancement or not? Of course we need to do that. Computers are now a part of our daily routine and we need to get used to that.

This sounds like one of the nursing careers I would like to try. Since I already have a B.S in Business Technology and Computer Systems Graphics this past training would come in handy if I went into this field of nursing. I would be able to combine my past training with the current training I am receiving.

We just had the Director of Nursing for the local hospital's Informatics as a guest lecturer. It is interesting and new. She had her degree in Economics before becoming a nurse. Worked as nurse for about 10 years or more. She then got her MBA and is heading up informatics at the local hospital. It may be the right field for someone but may be not for me.
