Hi. all. I am in colorado I am a CNA and and starting the nursing program in the fall. I called up a temp place they said starting RN's are at 39.00 hour. I know that has nothing to do with anything here.

Not true about Virginia, you can make up to $20 at the nursing homes.

im a lpn currentyl working in a skilled nursing facility in kansas city mo. i've been a nurse for 5 years and i expect no less than $20.a hour . im currently receiving $21.50 at a new job i just started so the money is out there you have to demand and sell yourself to get what you want.!!!!!!!!

I am a LPN in Alabama and I don't have any friends that are working for the ridiculous pay that was quoted. I hope to be starting RN school in September but I'm doing very well. To date, I've already made $32, 000 this year. If I made the amount stated here, I would need public assistance. I get paid weekly and my checks on average are $1000......and that's after taxes.

Ohio's starting is around $18.00 to $20.00/hr. I think Pa. is about the same.

I am currently an LPN in Connecticut, and yes the pay rate is good, but you won't see it because the cost of living is rediculous. I live in what my son refers to as "the hood" and I pay almost a $1000 for an apartment that is probably not worth it. The taxes are a bit ridiculous too. Even though working for an agency I get paid more (currently 28.00/hr), than working for facility, I am still struggling because the bulk of my pay goes to taxes. I am currently looking to move out of CT to a state where COL is more reasonable

Currently in Middle Missouri we pay $18.00 to $20.00 hourly for per diem agency in clinics. Not bad for M-F 8-5, especially when area acute care facilities pay $10-13 hourly.

WOW!!! Im in the Northwest Florida Panhandle area and the pay ranges from $15-19.00/hr. Most folks think that Lpns make alot of money, but that is so untrue. Alabama is even worse........one place wanted to only pay $8.86-12/hr. This was very interesting. I feel that we put our lives at risk everyday working with so many different infections and we are at such HIGH RISK and it is sad that we cant get paid more than that. The RN's probably make approximately 3-4 dollars an hour more if that give or take. Julie Lpn

I agree with treebabyblues, what areas are these jobs in? I am an LVN in the state of Texas and as far as the Dallas area is concerned a lot of the hospital here are going all RN which pushes a LVN into longterm care, ambulatory care, or home health. Did you notice that Texas is not on that list.
