Holistic Nurse
Holistic Nurses believe in a more comprehensive view of a patient’s health and well-being. While their treatments continue to focus on the patient’s physical wellbeing, these nurses pay extra attention to psychological, social, and spiritual factors that also affect each patient’s progress.
Complementary Health Nursing is closely related to holistic nursing. These nurses are also known as Alternative Health Nurses and are involved in providing alternative methods of healing to patients. Once considered avant-garde, many of these methods, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, and guided imagery, are becoming more and more mainstream. A growing number of complementary health nurses are further developing their skill set by becoming educated in Reiki, the art of natural healing.

Educational Requirements
Some states require an RN license and/or a certification issued by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA)
In all States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories, students must graduate from an approved nursing program and pass a national licensing examination, known as the NCLEX-RN, in order to obtain a nursing license. Nurses may be licensed in more than one State, either by examination or by the endorsement of a license issued by another State. The Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement allows a nurse who is licensed and permanently resides in one of the member States to practice in the other member States without obtaining additional licensure.

Another great resource is the Aerospace Medical Association (www.asma.org) and the "Flight Nurse Society" ... a constituent organization of the parent AsMA ... initially founded as a USAF Flight Nurse section ... it now reflects an international membership of civilian and military flight nurses.
