I know that the question was not directed to me, but I know that in Texas, if you will work at a nursing home, they will send you to CNA classes and even pay for them. Thats how I got mine and it is a great way to get hands on your clinicals. They usually last about 6-8 weeks, just depends on the facility. You would need to contact the nursing homes in your area and speak to the D.O.N, or you can also contact the Texas Nurse Aide registry in Austin Texas...they should be able to help you. It is rewarding and helps you appreciate the CNAs as well as decide if you truelly want to be in the nursing field. If you can get thru the cna program without wanting to give up....the rest should come naturaly. Hope that this helps you, good luck!

My CNA class was 6 weeks, through the Red Cross. It was worth it, and I fely more prepared as a nursing student by doing it. Have aa good one!
