About Me
After more than 25 years of practice in various hospital and community settings, I had the privilege of coordinating a program in three NY counties for chemically dependent nurses in 2003. More than 90% were surrendering their license to practice the profession, often for several months. The experience affected me profoundly and in order to focus on the area of prevention, I resigned in 2008 to write the book "Unbecoming A Nurse: Bypassing the Hidden Chemical Dependency Trap," which was released January 2009. The aim of the book is to offer preemptive strategies for those who do not have an issue as well as prevent relapse in nurses with a history of an issue. Please contact me if interested in contributing your story of recovery for the sequel which is underway. Anonymity will be maintained.
