Where were you in June?? I had a million questions for you then! ;)
It was a bit intimidating joining after being a civilian all my life...I am 34...a little later to join than most. I am over the worst of the culture shock, still learning everyday! I am not gonna lie...school is hard because most of us have to work as well as go to school. Many of us had families to take care of. Study groups take up a lot of time. Clinicals take up a lot of time. The tests will always have screwy answers that you don't agree with or that your real life experience begs you to differ! If you are good at jumping through hoops (something tells me that you are :) ) then you can make it in nursing school!
Just apply your time wisely and it will fly by. Your EMT training will help immensely, as will the anatomy you had to have for massage! You are leagues ahead of most already!
Maybe you can get a job in the ER somewhere as a CNA? They would love your experience in fast paced environments! The pay is a little better, actually...I am surprised! I started at $10/hour about 5 years ago with NO experience. The hospital that I worked for paid for all of my schooling, I did not owe them any time but there are lots of programs like that out there, you should check your local hospitals out. I am writing a novel...does any of this help?
