Need some advice. I got my LPN degree at age 57. Entered a new program in town here which was LPN to RN (Assoc deg) with no clinical experience required. 7 month course with semesters V and VI. Failed clinicals in semester VI, but stayed in for classroom education and assignments which, I believe, earned the respect of teachers, classmates, etc. I am able to repeat semester VI, however, school wants me to get clinical experience by working as an LPN in a hosp. I would be an entry level LPN. Only about 2 hosp use LPNs. If I am unable to get in to the hosp, what route would you recommend so that I can improve upon my skills?

I'm an "older" nursing student who is fulfilling my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Preceptorship will be in med/surg. I will graduate 11/5 with my Assoc degree and will be looking for FT work after state boards in November. I live in Tucson and would appreciate any tips or suggestions for job-hunting.
