  I am a student and really cannot wait to become an official nurse. I want to become a Certified Nurse Practitioner. I would love to work with babies or kids too!! It is really hard starting out I hope I am doing everything I need and forgetting something. Sorry I cannot be of help to you and talk about the experiences you go through. I do have some medical experiences of my own though. My fiance was dignosed with a brain tumor and I went through that whole thing and that is actually how I got back into doing what my childhood dream was (to become a heart surgion...yes I shoot for the stars even at a young age).   do you work in the base hospital at pendleton? always used to go by there when my pop was in the marines... see it on surfaris down the coast....hmmmm san onofre sounds like a better plan today than the ER...lol good luck down there

  Amy, My computer is old and I am not sure if it is my computer or Yahoo but my screen keeps freezing up tonight. I tried to send you a message earlier. You are young and energetic and we need nurses to care for others, like you. He has given us his heart of compassion,too. I love your comment about God. We are his hands and feet as we answer the call in nursing. I could not do the job I do without His Heart for others that He reminds me of on a regular basis. I was a Hospice
  Nurse for a couple of years and people many times asked me how can you do this every day? I loved what I was doing and it was Gods strength that enabled me to do what I did. I am now in the
  Alzheimers Specialty and I am finding it rewarding.God has a Heart for these special elderly people. I find they have so much Love to give back to us, when we give to them.

  You sound like an awesome person. I like students too,and believe in nurturing and teaching them rather than throwing them to the dogs so to speak. Nothing makes me angrier than when I hear a nurse or CNA say"Oh, good students, we can get our beds and baths done today." Jerks!
  Sadly, I just heard that about a week ago.
