While I am not yet a nurse I have spent a fair amount of time hospitalized in the last 5 months. I was ill enough that a home health nurse cared for me nearly daily for three and a half of those months. I saw with my own eyes what a skilled, kind, and competent nurse can mean to a patient. And I want to be part of that. I am nervous about my ability to keep the high grades that my nursing program requires to be accepted, but i will try with every fiber of my being to succeed. The nurses saved my life, cared for me even when I was at my worst, and showed such caring and professionalism that I was astounded. It changed my life. Ladies and Gentlemen wish me luck, for I start my preliminary classes in about three weeks and I hope to manage my ASN in about 3 years going to school part time.
