About Me
I have 2 grown children and a wonderful, adorable grand-daughter. My husband is a great guy and we have been married for 6 years. I also have 3 step-children. It took me a while to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up but finally graduated from nursing school in 2000. My floor nursing days were not long as I was injured only 6 months after graduating and ended up having to have a cervial fusion performed. For the past 6 years I have worked at a few different places - a clinic as a coordinator, claims analyst for Medicare in Chico, CA and now I work as a clinical analyst in the Quality Management Department at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento. I do the collecting and entry of data for the Core Measures and National Patient Safety Goals audits within the hospital. There are things I miss about being at the bedside like being able to interact with the patients and families, trying to make the hospital experience as pleasant as possible. I had hopes and dreams of working in OB at one time but with the limitations I have physically that isn't going to happen. I have thought about possible trying to go into a NP or PA program but I am just not sure about the whole school scene at this point! We love to cruise and our favorite itinerary is the southern Carribean.
