I am a psychiatric RN at a state hospital. I love working as a psychiatric nurse. It is very challenging and never ever a dull moment. I am also a medic and have been for several years. I have been involved in search and rescue/disaster relief for a good number of years as well. I am an Army veteran having served over 26 years, and still affiliated with the military, but as a "blue suiter" now. I am a "late-in-life" RN, taking me nearly 30 years of eventually achieving this "dream." It's amazing the twists and turns, open and closed doors and OTHER opportunities God threw my way during this quest to eventually become an RN. Never ever a regret that it didn't happen when I wanted it to. The old saying of better late than never truly applies. I am adventuresome and always love a good challenge (or two).
