Poll: For Valentine's Day do you...

Lists have been published on the site for Why You Should Date a Single Mom, a Geek, a Wrestler and hundreds of other categories. Not to be outdone, the medical professions have also posted “Ten Reasons Why You Should Date: a Physician, a Physical Therapist, an EMT, and other medical professions.

Nurses, of course, have their ten reasons. Here is one Top Ten Reasons You Should Date a Nurse List, courtesy of a group on Facebook:

1. They can help you get over a hangover or sickness.

2. Bedbaths!

3. The uniform.

4. They are exposed to so many xrays, it’s like a form of birth control.

5. You will never need to buy condoms, paracetamol, toothbrushes or any hospital supplies.

6. They know how to handle bodily fluids!

7. Nothing shocks a nurse, they have always seen smaller or indeed bigger!

8. They won’t be disgusted by your toilet habits.

9. They are experienced in manual evacuation when you are full of you know what.

10. They know how to handle the human body.

Have another Top Ten Reasons list to share with us? Post it in our discussions on Nursinglink.com.

True, he's glad now that we dated and got married...but...he had his OWn list on why its good to date a nurse....I might just put it on my myspace...just to see how many stiff lipped jerks leave me comments i can laugh at...lol =)

I guess this article is related to the one we hear every other day n at thesame time, it is just to lighten up our mood.
Note: other professionals too have this stroke at one point and we all laughed at it, so let's not take it personal.
The debate about whether it is right to be shared on NursingLink is certainlyy for another day.
    Happy pre-val, intra-val and post-val season.............(peri-val-nursing)

Okay, seriously people.....IT'S A JOKE!!! For everyone who is saying it should be taken off the site, if you don't like it then don't come back and read it! Just because you don't agree with what it says noes not mean that everyone else doesn't have a sense of humor. It's not meant to be taken literally. I am sure all of you that are complaining have laughed at a joke that was offensive to someone else at some point in your life........so what is the difference?!?! IT'S A JOKE PEOPLE! Lighten up!

This was cute! Our student nursing club made t-shirts with top 10 reasons to date a nurse, it was somewhat like that. People - lighten up! This is a cute, fun little list. Make a more serious one and post that if you want! People are too easily offended these days.

OMG!!! There are actually nurses out there without a sense of humor? If you are offended by what others may deem humorous then you no longer have the open-mindedness required in our profession!! Just because we are "licensed" doesn't mean we are "dead"!! Do you not laugh when your patient tells you a joke that you might find not so funny or even a bit on the offesnsive side? I do not look either hispanic nor Jewish...but I LMAO when I hear a good joke about my heritage!! Comes with accepting everyone and everything in life and taking that which you desire to have in your "life portfolio"!! I really liked the #11!!

haha I think it's cute, I love it. If you can't laugh at yourself then what good are you to your patients? Laughter is the best Medicine and in the Nursing Field we all need laughter because at times it can be a little rough, so laugh and enjoy. I don't see anything that is offensive in anyway what so ever. I agree with nurse8907, I wouldn't want to work along side of anyone that found this article offensive, it's just too cute haha!

The offended ones that lack a sense of humour are certainly no one I would ever want to have around taking care of me or MY loved ones - or anyone else either. I worry about them as this shows a LACK of TOLERANCE on their part - which we all know that lack of tolerance - even towards uptight, humourless ones, is a red flag. I am worried that ANYONE was offended by any of those Top 10 Reasons. If you are that stressed out about the realities of the job - some shown above - being in this profession, you need to quit it as you are most likely making your patients uncomfortable and uptight as well - just what they need when they are sick.

Laughter is good medicine. The humourless ones are the nurses that makes the rest of us who work in the medical field look bad.

I'm offended that you people are offended. Think about it people..we all know why we got in to the nursing world...so let a few lighthearted jokes fly.People in the military dont get offended at all the cracks made about them, in fact, a lot of the jokes came from the men and women themselves. Everything they listed is true, so if you are offended, did nothing on the list happen to you? Get over it people....it's called freedom of speech..if you dont like what you are reading ..GO TO ANOTHER WEBSITE...noone wants to hear your diatribes !!

    11. If you are lucky enough to marry a nurse, in your old age, they will fulfill their spousely duties and take care of you by hiring a sexy, young nurse in hopes that you kick off quicker.
