59-Year-Old in France Gives Birth to Triplets

PARIS — Hospital officials in France say a 59-year-old woman has given birth to triplets after going abroad to get donated eggs.
The Paris public hospital network says the two boys and a girl weighed between 2.09 and 2.4 kilograms (4 pounds 9 ounces and 5 pounds 5 ounces) and measured between 46 and 47 centimeters (18.1-18.5 inches).
An official at the Paris hospital network said Monday that the woman gave birth this weekend by Caesarean section. The official was not authorized to be publicly named.
The woman’s pregnancy prompted controversy in France. French law concerning egg donation excludes women over 42 from access to the procedure.
No other information was immediately available about the newborns or the mother.

If she's a good looking 59 y/o she could of lied about her age. Then again money rules the world. Does anybody know how much a procedure like this cost. I would love to have all my kids at once to get it over with and does insurance cover this? If so which one.

I wonder if these are her first children? It really is amazing for her to go through this at her age...kudos to her and best of luck!!! I have two teenage daughters and I can't wait to be a doting Grandma...in maybe 10 more years? Thank God, right now they're both involved in school and no boys yet...so everything's well and good.

You have to give it to the lady. For her to go to this much trouble to conceive and give birth at her age of 59 tells one she truly wanted the babes. Hats off to her for going for what She wants!

I wouldn't do this but then this woman chose to do this. I think that the law needs to let us govern our own bodies no matter where on earth we live. Also is this is a healthy 59 year old women which she appears to be, then let her do what she wishes to do.

It was nice to read the story and read the comments of all. Im 59 and had 9 children . 6 boys and 3 girls.They are all big and married except my 2 girls which are 14 and 16 and an 18 and 20 year old. But im happy to be a mother and it really takes gutts to raise so many children. I never thought I would have so many but it was in God's plan. Being a mother is the best thing in life that can happen to a woman. Theres many that complain because of one child but it takes love patience and time. Each child is different but each is unique and has love to give,time to share and gifts and talents god has given and i dont know about you but i enjoyed my kids and still do. Theyre the most precious and biggest gift God gave me and i treasure it as the most important treasure i have in earth.besides the lord. God bless this lady from France I know she will get through. One thing I say is if youre having a baby love it take care of it dont abuse it and be a mother in bad time but also in good times. You never know about tommorow. ( You might need him/her too.

Wow she has been blessed. I wish i could have triplets but it's a lot of work especially for someone of her age. I just hope she lives long enough to see them graduate from high school. That is why i don't recommend anyone having kids so late but to each it's own.

That's amazing that she went through fine in giving birth to triplets with her age. One of the effects of invitro fertilization is indeed multiple pregnancy.

Some women are very maternalistic they would use every opportunity to continue having children, I do hope that mother and babies remain in good condition that she will live for many years to come to see them grow up.

ongratulations to her. I hope she and her babies are healthy and happy may they have a long and prosperous life. I think it stupid that the French want to pass a law that prohibits women over 42 from recieving donor eggs. For whaterver reason she waited this long is between her and God. Good Luck to her
