Oregon Becomes First State to Officially Ration Health Care
Source: HEalth Care News (Heartland Institute)
June 10, 2009
The Oregon Health Services Commission has drawn up a formal procedure for rationing health care services available to recipients of taxpayer-subsidized coverage. The rationing policy may surprise low-income individuals on the state health care program, who could see treatments they need become unavailable due to changes in state-determined priorities.

I don't like the sound of this. They are putting more importance on obesity and smoking than for acute illnesses. Understandable if you want to focus on preventative health care but you can't place more importance on those people than the ones with acute, life threatening illnesses. It's just ludicrous!
