Although sometimes it is necessary for children to take these medications, I have seen very sad and fatal outcomes of pediatric patients on psych meds. Sometimes the meds side effects are worse than the illnesses. Some of my patients became neurologically impared, comatose, and some died. These drugs can be very dangerous or fatal to some patients.

Yes, it is alarming and it's only going to get worse because more parents are sending their kids off see the shrink when all they really need is a good heart to heart talk with Mom and/or Dad.
