I never knew what I wasn't hearing before I got this scope. Honestly, I hadn't believed that a stethoscope could make such a huge difference in what you could and couldn't auscultate - I used to chalk the difference up to the person listening. Agreed, a great deal goes to training and skill, but the right equipment makes a TON of difference - this scope has let me hear things I have never heard before. A cardiothoracic surgeon where I work told me that this particular scope was as good an instrument as you could buy without going to the electronic scopes - and he wasn't kidding, in my experience. I'm not going to say you can hear fetal heart tones in utero with this - but it's close. And it looks darn cool, too.
