Parts of the University of New Mexico Hospital were on lockdown as police searched for a male suspect yesterday afternoon; the lockdown has now been lifted.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the suspect, Cesar Dominguez-Garcia, was at the hospital visiting family members. Fox News Channel reported that Dominguez was upset about something and pulled out a handgun and fired one shot before fleeing on foot.
According to CNN,
“They confirm one person was in the hospital and shot his gun inside the hallway, but no one was injured,” said Cindy Foster, a spokeswoman for the UNM Health Sciences Center.
Dominguez is 5 foot 6 inches tall with various tattoos and is armed and dangerous, according to police.
