Nevada health care had a terrible reputation even before last week. But public trust in doctors and nurses may now be at an all-time low. Already, the state ranks among the worst in the nation for numbers of doctors and nurses per capita, the number of un

What a moronic Governor. He's in the midst of a health scandal, and he's saying things like that?

You know, we recalled Gray Davis in California over the energy scandal, even tho his term was running short anyway. Maybe Nevada should consider the same thing.

Now, our illustrious Governor has stated he sees no need to add inspectors and increase the number of inspections. He tried to relate it to people getting stopped by the State Patrol for every tiny violation and said it was over kill to have more inspections. Currently, the inspections are only every three years. This clinic had gone seven years without an inspection.

This article was in the newspaper today. Virginian Pilot March 7 2008 Las Vegas The unsafe medical procedures that spread hepatitis C among patents at a large Las Vegas surgical clinic may be more widespread and may have resulted in more infections than first believed, health officials say. Health inspections at 13 other outpatint surgical centers in the Las Vegas area found several violations of standard practices. Lisa Jones, head of the state licensing bureau testified to a legislative committee on health care. "We're finding problems at a variety of different levels-medication reuse, in some cases syringe reuse in different procedures and functions" Jones said.

I have found physicians, when it comes out of their own pockets are notoriously cheap. They think nothing of expensive, non reusuable articles being opened in the OR and not using them, but at their own facilities, they cut corners all the time. When I traveled, I stopped accepting assignments at privately owned surgery centers, because my license was always in jeopardy

all I can say is WOW! I can't imagine what I'd be doing if put in the same position as these patients. I'd be knocking down somebody's door that's for sure.

I just read the article, and saw the video, oh my God, that is alot of patients that have contracted HEP C. 40,000. That is a more than a population, in other small towns in this country, it is a third of the population in Vegas, they call Las Vegas sin city, but that takes the cake. I thought the medical field is suppose to be more cautions about diseases, not spread them, we are in the twenty first century, we have up to date technology, and information on ways to prevent certain diseases, we are not in the old wild wild west days anymore, that guy should be __ I don't want to say it, you know what I mean Cd, you work in the jails.

dmazment: a nurse that I now work with has worked for this dick head in the past. She told me a real horror story about him. He should be showing up at my place of employment soon. He will most likely bail out immediately.

I had the displeasure of working with (dick head) desai once. He actually demanded I stop the cycle on the steris to get out the endoscope he wanted to use because he had an appointment he didn't want to be late for and endoscopic procedures were not sterile.............duh When I refused he became verbally abusive, of which I promptly wrote him up. Fortunately this was the last week of my 13 week assignment
