    Ya I heard that even if you lose weight, those same fat cells are still there, just flattened and that is how you end up fat as a house again so quick if you dont watch it. That really sucks.

    My understanding is a big part of what controls your weight is the size of the fat cells. They enlarge or shrink depending on how much energy is being stored. That's why starvation diets don't work--the fat cells sense a need to store more energy to fend off future starvation, and so grow larger.
