Nurse Stabbed to Death; Bill Introduced to Protect Workers

After Daniel returned to work following the suicide attempt, the hospital said he was being monitored, but several of Dupont’s colleagues told the inquest they felt threatened by his strange behaviour.

Dupont’s mother Barbara told the inquest that Daniel constantly harassed her daughter after their breakup.

In addition to Dupont’s death, the legislation was also prompted by the 1996 killing of Theresa Vince, who was shot to death by a man who was harassing her at the Sears store in Chatham, Ont., where she had worked for 25 years.

Members of the Dupont and Vince families were at the legislature Monday to see the government introduce the amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
