Posted almost 3 years ago We Can’t Believe You’re Gone
Dad, our sadness knows no end; We can’t believe you’re gone; We’re grieving for you every day; It’s hard to carry on.
You were always there to support and care, When we needed a true friend, How we’ll ever do without our dad, We cannot comprehend.
You were our teacher and our guide, Our dad, so good and strong; Your example will sustain us now, And last our whole lives long.
We’re trying to communicate; We hope that you can hear; Expressing what we feel for you, Helps us feel you’re near.
Our memories of the times we had Help the pain to go away. But Dad, our lives won’t be the same; We’ll miss you every day.
A part of us went with you; You left a gap too big to fill; You’re our father and our hero; We love you and we always will |

| Posted almost 3 years ago " The Strong,Silent Type..." ( To My Dad...) It's been ten years since your passing, not a day goes by, That I don't recall the Navy man, the little Irish Guy. You knew your plan of action, you struggled to survive, To build a happy home and raise a clan of five. To listen with regard to conversations ripe, And like The Duke , to emulate **the strong, silent type. The solid friend who listens to every little word, And cautions you when Mom is mad,"please,do not disturb". Who helps you with your studies, Vocabulary," pile", And learned himself a thing or to ,replying with a smile. Who taught the Junior,Girl Scout," How to Make a Grill", Aside from the Handbook, **Sterno, at will. We shared the tender moments, how can I forget, The day we lost ," our Shepherd", the treasured, family pet. To pick yourself up when you are down, dust off, then to proceed, The best advice that I could take, the words I often heed. The social firefly ,who'd seldom ever delve, Who waited for your safe return, arriving home by twelve. Who walked you down the aisle, they'd rarely see you cry, Except when I would keep your name, bringing tears to your eye. The seasonal employment, it often made Mom hollar, The Man of Means of Very Few, he handed me a dollar. Fathers have a way to communicate with daughters, To praise achievements overall and cast aside such falters. So, take the time to spend with kids, their hearts are full of splendor, How little ones grow up,so fast ; the things they do remember. Here's to the Man who gave his best, he's worthy of the hype, I'd walk a mile in his footsteps, The Strong, Silent Type". " Happy Father's Day to All" Nine Lives.
