Posted almost 3 years ago Well, the Summer break is officially over at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, and it’s time to roll up those sleeves again and get back to work. For some of our LVN students it’s time to continue their studies, get back to those thick textbooks and get ready to take more lecture notes. They feel like the seniors of Gurnick Academy. LVN classrooms come back to life after a two-week break, and like a busy bee-hive, our LVN college is buzzing again with students hurrying to their classes, instructors walking down the hallways, locomotion in the corridors, moving desks, equipment, projectors… lights… camera… action! And yet, though some of our nursing students are soon to graduate, others are only beginning their journey. We are talking about the LVN students who are just starting their LVN program now. This will be their first module, and they are about to take their first LVN course, the Fundamentals of Nursing. |

With all these happening so quickly, it feels like life is so short and we should really appreciate it more than we are doing now. In fact, it is so fast that it seemed like all of them had just happened yesterday. It is irony that when I was still studying, I wished that I would graduate soon as study life really is stressful. But after I graduated, I wanted to go back to study life, as study life is far better than working life. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Right now I am looking forward to this week being the last week of summer classes then having 3 weeks off. Then I'll be ready for fall term classes. For some of us we haven't had a break since spring break. Feels like work |

| Posted almost 3 years ago WoW, talk about memory lane. Many years ago, and it is coming back. I can remember those days as if they were yesterday. I with many of you wish the best and support the future nursing students. I am in the process of writing a curriculum for my own vocational nurse program and if you all have any suggestions or ideas I can use to make my program and program of excellence please feel free to post. Again I applaude all nurses and future nurses. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Entering 5th week before 2 weeks off. Takes a while to get back in the 'student role" tho I have been at it now for just over 2 years. Looking for a much needed 2 week break. Classes are 8wk, 8 weeks then usually a week off and repeat cycle. On the down stretch as formal classes will be done in March, then 8 weeks for a portfolio and 8 weeks for practicum then God willing my MSN! Hang in there people you can do it! I have 40 years in from LPN to ADN, to BS Mgmt now RN to MSN program at Walden U - great program and I recommend it highly! |
