Teaching versus Working

Posted almost 3 years ago I Went to School and finished my MSN so I could make more money and help the new Nurse become a better nurse. I found out teaching does not pay as much as a nurse working on the floor. I have read where the nursing schools can not get enough teachers but they are not willing to pay for the educated and experienced Nurse to to become a teacher. One teacher with thirty students should be worth one nurse with 10 patients. Anyone else feel this pressure? |

| Posted almost 3 years ago no not really but i found out that very info you have just stated a long long time ago. when i was in college one of my nsg professors gave a lecture on that very subject....teaching vs working. i was surprised to say the least. but then again there is no overtime in teaching and no double shifts etc etc so there you have it. having said that i do appreciate the nsg instructors and see how hard they work for very little pay . but i much prefer the hassle and commitment of working on the floor to grading papers and tests giving lectures and monitoring clincical. it takes all kinds of people to keep nsg moving foreward into the 21st century so keep your chin up and think about doing some full time work during the summer to make up for the lack of cash flow during the school year!! good luck |
