Posted almost 3 years ago Was and will always be my grandmother and my mother, rest in peace.. My grandmother was a caring and helpfull person, she would help out the less fortunate in her trailer park, the blind, the disabled, and even though she had problems walking herself. She was the rock of the family even when she lost bother her husbands her son and only daughter my mom, whom died of breast cancer at the age of 41, my grandmother out-lived her which she thought wasn't right, parents shouldn't out-live your children. My mother opened up my eyes and made me see that I need to help when needed and to care for the less fortunate. I helped take care of my mother when I was barely 20 when she had cancer, it was very hard and heartbreaking. This made me realize that I need to be in nursing it is my job and my duty to help when needed. |

Posted almost 3 years ago Why did the 2009 US Task Force put forth that women do not need mamograms till after age 50 and then stop at age 75 is unbelievable. They also recommend that mamograms for this age bracket should be done every other year too... They do not recommend self breast exams to look for tumors. This United States task Force obviously does not comprise nurses, oncologists, gyn doctors etc. What are they trying to do? Save a few dollars?

Posted almost 3 years ago My children. God I love them more than I could ever have imagined loving another human being. They are the reason I get up everyday, work everyday, smile everyday. There is absolutely no greater love than that of a child. I thank God for them. I also am inspired by my grandmother. She passed away when I was 12, 27 years ago. She was the most amazing woman I have ever known. She was so selfless, loving, kind and generous. She was just beginning to teach me all of the things a young girl needs to know to survive in this crazy world, and then she was gone. I have forever wondered how different I would be as a woman had I had her influence just a little bit longer. I believe I will always mourn the loss of her. ~ Laugh as much as you breath and love as long as you live ~

Posted over 2 years ago There are a lot of wonderful people in my life that inspire me, it's such a long list. But ultimatly, one day I'll look around and they'll be gone. My God inspires me most of all, because he will always be there. Through his word & music I am inspired to keep on moving forward, to keep doing the good that I can do, that I might inspire someone esle to trust & live for hm!!

Posted over 2 years ago My interest in this topic lead me to begin reading some of the postings, one inparticular which helped me to identify that my paternal granmother who died of cancer was one of my greatest inspirations.A very loving ad caring person to me as well as to others and I miss her presence even today thoguh she left this world in 1997. Also, my 3rd and 5th grade teachers Harriet Debose and Ned Brown who have also passed on.
