Hi! I am currently in pre-nursing school. I wanted to know if anyone out there begin with an internship before their license? Do you think an internship is the right thing. By the way...I am interested in Pediatric Nursing and Orthopedic Nursing.

Excited Student,

KM

Dear KM,

Congratulations on your pre nursing. Hang in there. It will get tough, but it will be soo worth it in the end. I am an L.V.N. and am taking pre reqs so that I can enter the bridge program from L.V.N. to R.N.  It is a one year program. I worked in a nursing home for a few years before becoming an L.V.N. so I had a taste of what patient care was like. I think that was beneficial to me in the long run.

Good luck in your studies and your future as a nurse.
