Posted almost 3 years ago I was taking one of the quizes tonight and one of the questions was about Medical Malpractice Insurance for Nurses. This is something completely new to me so just out of curiosity I thought I would do a search on Google about it, basically to get a quote, and to try and learn a little more. One thing I found was they also have it for students. So of course I had to get the quote for that and from the NSO.com website I found I can get full coverage insurance $1,000,000/$6,000,000 as a student for $29 a year. So first I want to know is it common for RN's or really Nurses in general to carry their on MMI and secondly is it common for students to carry it as well? Knowing that it's only $29 a year as a student I will plan on getting it to CYA myself. LOL |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Inadequate employer-provided coverage can leave unexpected expenses for you to pay. If you are named in a malpractice lawsuit and your legal costs and settlement or judgement exceed your employer's coverage limits, you may need to make up the difference.so insurance will differ according to the type of nurses like Student Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioner Students, Forensic Nurse, Legal Nurse Consultant, Corporate Coverage and Coverage for Schools. | Posted almost 3 years ago " Nursing Malpractice Insurance is essential for all nurses,( RNS and LPNS), to have . I had read an article in a Nursing Magazine,( 1980's), recommending this and have had this for the past 21 years. Nursing Service Organization,( " local chapter"), can provide you with the information,ie. quarterly payments, which are quite feasible,( less than $100.00 per year). This was also," a mandatory prerequisite", for taking the State Certification Intravenous Course for LPNS. Having worked as an LPN for many years, I'm glad that I made the right decision to do so."
