I am a graduate of a 2 year school in Troy, NY. I began working at the hospital in the area as an aide while going to school and now I am a nurse there. I have a BA in Latin American and Caribbean studies with minors in english and spanish.
I initially sought out Nursing Link because I did not want to pay for the NCLEX quick results but wanted some assurance as to if I passed or failed. After joining NursingLink I realized that I have been receiving emails from nursing link all through nursing school. This is just the first time that I have actually joined.
Now that I have my license, Nursing Link is a place to meet other nurses outside of where I work, to get advice and encouragement for the everyday trials of being a new nurse. So far the moderators are great. There are so many groups that provide support in all the ways that we as nurses may need. And, if the group is not here...create it!
In short, I think that nursing link is a bridge between the worlds of life as a nurse. Just because you physically leave the job doesn't mean you have left the work or cleared your mind. Nursing link helps me to clear my mind and enjoy myself.
