It has always been a dream of mine to be in the medical field when I grew up. As a little boy my favorite tv show was Emergency 57. In Boy Scouts the scout troop I was apart of was the first aid troop for our area council and all of us gained our first aid and cpr certifications as youth. When I was 17 and in high school I joined the Oregon Army National Guard as a combat field medic. After a couple of years after high school I lost my direction and when I turned things around I went back to school and went into the engineering field. Through my career of 15 years as a drafter/designer I was never satisfied with my choice of professions. All though my career I wanted to go back to school to further my education since I didn't finish college the first go around cause I was offered work before I got to the graduation point. Then about a year ago I was laid off. I had already enrolled at the local community college to continue my education in engineering but after the layoff I really started to rethink what it was I was doing. In my thoughts I really started to think about when my son was born and how well he was taken care of in spending his first 3 weeks of his life in the NICU. This made me to really think about why I hadn't gone into the medical field in the first place. Soon I started exploring the possibility to change my education plans and then by the spring term I enrolled in A&P 1 with the idea that I could at least get started in that direction. Now I know my inspiration stems from a life long desire to serve others and of course my newest inspiration is my son who reminds me everyday that I am moving the right direction for my family. Thank you Nicholas for bringing so much to your daddy's life.

Pretty awesome! I appreciate you being transparent, and sharing! I also congratulate you on being real with yourself and making the changes needed to be who you really are. You will never regret it!
