Posted almost 3 years ago hi guys, so i had this incident occur at work this weeek where a medical resident slandered the name of a nursing staff. the RN became aware of what was said and confronted the medical resident. the nursing supervisor was informed and was at the meeting. this resident has also been quite curious and involved in 'the nurses business' . she constantly has issues with certain nurses and will gossip with the nicu unit about the peds unit and then talk about the nicu unit with the peds nurses. now some nurses enale and encourage this behaviour and i just don't understand why!!!!!! |

| Posted almost 3 years ago " Gossip in the workplace,as much as everyone enjoys partaking in the frivolity ,can backfire at anytime. Why waste time thriving with the social banter, when all that becomes of it is, " excessive,finger-pointing,delayed time spent trying to accomplish one's assignments and the ultimate inquisition for anyone:" your hours at work cannot be authorized-why were you here late?" **Loose lips can sink ships". |

| Posted almost 3 years ago i can appreciate what you are saying but that doesn't change the fact that gossiping in the work place does affect performance and attitude in general. all members of the health care team are suppose to work together but it is diificult to do so when people are being vindictive and harbour animosity.perception is also important and can influence the way staff think about each other and at times undermine the efforts of the team. |

| Posted over 2 years ago gossip in the workplace is dangerous and harmful-i was the person harmed most by this when i worked for the vamc and it was the smalltown small mindned drunks that initiated it-the vamc is a good organization but when it allows losers like the small town junior high snot to be managers-it hurts itself professionally-be aware of small town guys and gals that come from dysfunctional families-they abuse power and have no business in the nursing profession. |
