I took the NCLEX-PN today and the computer shut off after the 205th question.  Last week a classmate went to 207 and passed but I really think I failed.  (My other classmates that passed said that if you try, in about two hours, after the test to pay again for the second test it will refuse if you passed.  Mine of course is allowing me to sign up again but it says  that the test results are not completed.) I have studied very hard but feel as if there was nothing on the test that was close to the materials I studied.  The practice tests did not come close to the actual exam.  I guess I have difficulty thinking logically and narrowing which would be the correct answer.  At this point I just want to give up I can't even think about studying for the next 91 days.

What are you studying. I studied off Saunder, and Lippincotte, and Mosby, but  to be honest, Mosby was similar to the exam. What did you have difficulty with?

I really can stop crying or thinking about what else I have done to pass.  I have been reading about the Kaplan course but everyone liked Saunders and that's what I used to study and practice.  Why I can not choose the "best" answer is unbelieveable to me.  I am so strong in class and study groups but stink at tests.  I just read another discussion forum that says the trick works about trying to pay two hours after completion.  So I know I failed!  I don't know what to do!

What is Mosby?  My school told us Saunders.  What about Kaplan?

My friend used the KAPLAN Series for Nclex RN,  She didn't pass the first time, but she passed the second time. Kaplan is good, it might work for you.

I bought Mosby and I think I am going to try KAPLAN too.  Maybe  alternating between the two will be successful.  (I have 90 days!)  Does anyone know a good way to remember Pharm.?

I bought my daughter the Mosby Flashcards. The question was on the front of the card with 4 answer choices, and the answer along with the rationale to why or why not the answer was chosed is on the back. She found she could just carry a few cards at a time, and rather than be faced with the entire book,  she could review little chunks at a time. She did pass.

I also would like to suggest you think back about different times in your life you had success. You mentioned having difficulty thinking logically, or some people might say they think too hard. Think back to times you had successes. What can you draw from those positive experiences to change your way of thinking when faced with something you feel is difficult?  And you don't know yet if you passed or not. Most of us didn't walk away from nursing boards feeling we "aced" it.  AND I took it when it was pencil and paper, and you didn't hear for 2 months. So we had two months to stew over it. Anyway, don't lose hope! And let us know the outcome. If the outcome is not what you would like to hear, draw on strength and support from your friends here! You are going to make it!

Sorry to hear that! You need to just start studying again! Try to concentrate on the areas that gave you trouble on the test! You'll succeed!

I know pharmacology is a weakness.  What Mosby cards did you get your daugther? ( I saw them for Pharmacology .)  I bought the Mosby book and CD.  I need to practice answering questions similiar to the NCLEX  Saunders was totally different.

I had so much material  to study from, I used flashcards, actually, I made my own, from Mosby, and I had a REA, flashcard book,I studied everything out there, that's why I could narrow it  down to Mosby, Study first, try 50 questions a day, then advance graduallly, then test youself, see your percentage on each category, if Pharm, is your weakness nail that first, you have to master your weaknesses, before you can conquer the NCLEX, trust me, it knows where you are weak.

The Flashcard method does work.
