I was asked awhile back to start a petetion, to sumit to the Registerd Nursing board, a proposal to grandfather Lvn's into Rn postions to help eleveate the nursing shortage. To allow them to sit the Rn boards if they have meet the criteria. Just like the Cns are challenging the Lvn board. Critria must be meet, but we are out here. With the economy as bad as it is, The cost of just a conventional college is outragious. I am currently enrolled in 14 units this fall, striving for the dream. But I think I can do more. Can you help me?

Please read my post on the issue if your interested. I really think its time us nurses pull together, after all we are excepted to work as a team on the floors, in the Emergency room, and any where else team nursing is their approach. Lets be a team out here. Let our voices be heard. Theirs are alot of very competent Lvn out their doing just as good a job as Rn's. but we get no reconiitation.

If fact some hospitals are trying to phase Lvns out. So I will research anything and everything to get the signatures to the board and have our voice be heard. Are there any Lvn's out there willing to fight for this? If I don't at least try I will never know if I could have helped with our nations growing problems of many patients and not enough nurses to care for them. Take some of the load off our Rn.s as well. Ready Set Go..........
