NYPD officer pulls Mom over> **Mom pleads with officer about daughter in respiratory distress, asks officer to; ** " help daughter, who cannot breathe", Officer declines, states:" I don't do CPR",thus,"boxes Mom's car in,preventing her from leaving the scene". Daughter assisted by passerby, thus finally arrives @ the hospital; unfortunately, she is declared, " DOA",by ER MD.ER MD informs NYPD about child's death> officer,"tears-up ticket for traffic violation,in front of parent". |

| Posted almost 3 years ago If the mother's account is accurate, it's an appalling story & the officer is partially to blame. She also should have called 911. That was the catalyst that led to the child's death. |

| Posted over 2 years ago if that is true...........the office should have charges against him for refusing to do CPR.................that is part of the duty of serve and protect and that is why they learn it |

| Posted over 2 years ago This is a tragic story and the officer should face some sort of disciplanary action. He was not wrong in stopping the woman going the wrong way on a one way street, after all he did not know why she was doing that until he stopped her. He was wrong in not calling 911 and not performing CPR. Also if the boy had a history of asthma the mother should have had medication available and she should have called 911. If she had, the child would have had medical help on the way to the hospital and would have had a better chance. John L. Racher RN, BSN, MSRN-BC
