Posted over 2 years ago I am fresh out of high school. Completeing gen eds at a community college at this point. I am VERY interested in a profession in a medical field of some sort. Im not sure if I want to be a nurse, im my mind i keep saying 'why stop there?'. I want to be the highest ranked nurse possible, next to a PhD. I dont care about the schooling, what I see is the longer the better. But I also DO NOT want to work in a doctors office! I want to be in the hospital, interacting wit patients, just the excitement of never knowing whats going to come the the door next, i love it! I plan on finishing 2 years at the community college im at and transfering to a University. My problem is, is i dont know what kind of medical nurse that is? I just cant find a name for what i am interested in. I plan on getting a degree in biology as a starter. ANY ADVICE??? |

| Posted over 2 years ago If you graduate from a 4 year university you would have a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing). You would then be able to sit for you nursing boards in order to practice nursing. Once passing your nursing boards you can work as a RN in a hospital, public health, office, teaching, research, etc. There are many open doors once you receive your license. |

| Posted over 2 years ago You need to spend some time in a hospital to what nurses actually do. Only then will you truly know what you want. |
