I have questions about funding for nursing school.  I am starting a general entry program in which I will receive a MS - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Degree in just over 3 years (starting Spring term 2011).  Its a private school and tuition is extremely expensive.  I NEED ALL OF THE HELP I CAN GET (as far as financial aid).  I dont mind taking the time to apply for aid but I dont see a lot out here for my particular situation. I have looked on this website and exhausted all of the resources at the schools website.  I could use  your expertise in finding funding.  Thank You

PS - My background: Bachelors (2001) and 8 years in corporate america (counseling and career management)

Sincerely,

Jevell Graham

I believe that the goverment has a program if you work in a rural setting as your "repayment".  You work for 2 years and they repay you 75% of your loan amount, work another year and they add another percentage.  I think the website is hrsa.gov

good luck

Yes, there are many grant opportunities available if you will work in a rural setting. You could also check with the board of nursing in your state. The college you are attending should also be aware. Check out the financial aid department.
