" Local authorities are searching Pa. for nurse, who hit a student w/car on his way to school;

  ** told the student where she worked,that she was a nurse>though, instead of driving him

  to the hospital or calling the police,she drove him home,then proceeded to her place of work.

  The teenager informed his mother of what had happened,thus the parent called the police.

   **The teenager was tx w/ fractured wrist and several stitches from open-trauma wound."

I'm gonna be honest here.  I'll probably be called a softie, or something worse, but oh well, this is who I am.  Many, many years ago I was on my way to work.  While driving down the highway I noticed what I thought to be a brown paper bag blowing in the wind lying directly in the center of the road.  I continued to drive, but something didn't sit right with me about it.  I turned around, stopped on the side of the road and investigated.  My brown paper bag was actually a little brown bunny whose hind quarters had been hit so severely they were literally lying flat against the road way.  This rabbit was still alert and was attempting to drag himself across the road to safety.  My heart was broken.  I retrieved a blanket from my trunk and gently wrapped him in it.  I drove to the nearest town with him lying on my lap, talking to him and stroking his ears.  I went to the local vet, and in tears described what I had found.  I then had him put humanely to sleep.  My point is this...if I stopped for a rabbit, I most certainly would have stopped for a human.  I can't believe how anyone, especially someone who has dedicated their life to helping those in need could possibly think this was ok.
