Pregnant in Nursing School

Posted over 2 years ago Well I just found out I am pregnant. I have approximately 5 months left of my program, so the pregnancy technically won't "interfere" with school. However, I was wondering has anyone else gotten this "surprise" while they were in the middle of their program? How did you handle it? Did you take time off before you finished or did you stick it out and complete the program? What complications did you encounter? Were the faculty understanding or did they treat you differently? Give you a hard time? Any advice or "been there done that" info would be appreciated Thanks! |

| Posted over 2 years ago You will need to make sure your instructors know about the pregancy, so that you are not inadverantly exposed to something that could complicate the pregnancy. |

| Posted over 2 years ago Obviously, your OBGYN has informed you of the tasks that you could perform during your pregnancy & even if you're not showing yet it's good to advise your clinical instructor about your condition; prior performing any assignment that may place you or your unborn child in jeaopardy. Furthermore, there are 2 nursing students & one future phycisian student that are expecting mothers and they are treated with the up most respect in our facility.
