Would you like to share the holiday traditions of your faith, or if you are from another country outside of the USA, what are some different traditions that you have? What are some of the holiday traditions that you would like to teach to your children and to pass onto other generations? |

| Posted over 2 years ago " From the superstitious, Irish clan: Every New Year's Eve / Day...1) Wear only bright -colored clothes,preferably gold and silver. 2) Must hold a piece of silver and a pack of matches in your hands@ midnight, represent good fortune for the New Year. 3) Only a dark-haired male to be the first person to cross the threshold@ midnight, representing positive direction; ***Must be carrying new broom upon crossing threshold,sweep-in good fortune ,then, toss-out old broom,( to rid,bad luck !) 4) Every doorway is blessed with Holy Water, to dispell evil spirits from entering the happy home. 5) Must eat apples cooked in saurkraut, to dispell bitter memories of days past; must consume pig,not fowl, for New Year's Day Dinner.***Pigs are," happy,celebratory,;" Fowls cry foul; always scratching / scavenging the earth, ***" evil shrill." 6) Always be sure to offer," full and plenty", to all guests> anticipating positive, good spirits remitted,ten-fold".
