This is my first tattoo. It is a butterfly with a pink ribbon as the body...it represents all of the survivors, the ones still fighting, and those who have passed away due to breast cancer. I have had three people close to my heart who have had breast cancer and thankfully, miraculously have conquered the cancer demon and are still with us today. They are fighters, and I honor them.

I chose to have it on my left wrist so that it would be in a place where I could see it and be reminded of it's meaning.

I have a tattoo on my left wrist in mandarin chinese, It says ''ALWAYS IN MY HEART'' on the inside of my wrist is the date ''Feb 4''.  Both are very significant reminders of where I've been, where I'm going, someone I've lost and that there ARE miracles every day.

I insisted that I was having my baby on Feb 4th, (my dads b-day) even though my due date was in March. I proved them all wrong when I delivered him that day too. It wasn't until 4 years later when I would have to search for an alternate mom for this downs syndrome son I loved so much that the Feb 4th date would show its true meaning.

Through an unbelievable series of events and circumstances came this lady, a Pediatric RN named Karin. She offered help when nobody else had an answer. She and her husband had adopted 17 disabled kids! ...but when she told me HER b-day was Feb 4th I knew why I really fought so hard to have him that day. God knew I'd need a sign. HE knew only I would know what that date meant to me. Karin has the tattoo on her left wrist, ''ALWAYS IN MY HEART'', and thats why I have one identicle. I added Feb 4th to remind me of Karin, ''baby Kyle'' and the miracle that brought us all together. Needless to say she is my inspiration for becoming a RN.

I wish I had a tattoo to share, but I don't.  I've considered getting one but think I'm sort of past the age where it might be appropriate.

For anyone interested in uploading the photo directly onto this thread, here's a quick tutorial for how to do it:

Step One: After clicking "Post a Reply" you'll be presented with a text box with a toolbar. Locate the landscape icon (mountain w/ a yellow background) which will allow you to insert/edit an image.

Step Two: After clicking the landscape icon, you'll be presented with a pop-up box titled "Image Properties." Paste your image URL into the appropriate text box. These url's usually end in .jpg. Remember, you're image must be hosted somewhere on the web like in a Photobucket or Flickr account. You can adjust the width and height if you like. Click OK.

Step Three: Your image should now appear in the text box. If you'd like to leave a comment or description, press Return/Enter once and begin typing your message. Click the Submit button and you're all finished!
