Posted over 2 years ago Ok- so maybe everyone doesn't think of the good 'ol days like I might. I remember seeing this brownish yellow pictures of my aunt's in her boxes in my grandma's basement of nursing through the ages. The fluffy hats, layers and even the crispness of the linen. I have a huge debt to repay to those nurses that have come before me, and I am so proud to accept that hat and pin soon enough. I have patience. What I would love to hear is the stories of the fashions of 'ol... the styles, stories or even the horrors (remember the first pair of stockings?). Anyone want to share? |

| Posted over 2 years ago That is sooo awesome! I wish we could go back to it, but glad I don't have to get up so early to get things ready... LOL |

| Posted over 2 years ago When I graduated from LPN school, the director of the school had been left with a bill from the previous year that was not paid by the students for their uniforms and caps and pins. Unfortunately, she decide that our graduating class would be "punished" for their wrongs, so we had to graduate in the gowns and caps that you get when you graduate from high school. I was so looking forward to get to wear the cap, but then had to wear the other thing. The following year it went back to the nurses caps and uniforms, so my graduating class was the ONLY class that was slighted in this time honnored tradition. |

| Posted over 2 years ago I never had the white nursing uniform, but my mother had it. Instead, I had a different white uniform that had the same kind of requirements mentioned earlier (25 years in Navy whites, enlisted and officer). Tom, PhD, MPH, BS(N), RN-C, CHN |
